I loved the Extreme Entertainment webpage, and I'm interested to see some of your movies, but unfortunately, none of the video stores near me here in Toronto, Canada seem to have any -- not even the 'alternative' place, Suspect Video (it DOES, thankfully, have a hefty selection of Euro-dubs, so I'll forgive it. But still...). It seems as though most places have followed Blockbuster's lead and given up on stocking anything but ridiculous numbers of new releases - you know, timeless classics that no one could live without like 'SHE'S ALL THAT' and 'I STILL KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER' Groan.
Your 'Mission Statement' ROCKED! It's very rare these days to see anyone come out and stand up for what they believe in, especially in the world of horror. I find that horror is often looked down upon, and whenever there's a horror movie so good that even critics can't deny its quality, it's suddenly no longer horror but a 'supernatural thriller' or 'psychological thriller' or 'morality play DISGUISED as a horror film' -- as if "just" being a horror movie isn't good enough. Double groan.
When I applied to film school here in Toronto, I didn't mention the titles of any of my short vids or my one feature -- I just said that I'd made them. Part of the application process involved a test in which the university showed us a clip from a movie and we had to write about it. Well, the clip was from VIDEODROME, and it showed a man's hand transforming into a gooey biomechanical gun, with which he proceeds to shoot a TV that spews human organs when it explodes. Well, good choice, I thought. LATER, though, I heard (not directly, but through a friend) that it's the university's policy not to let its students make horror films(!). One guy was surprised they admitted me, since I'd always loved horror and fantasy and my feature was called FLESH FREAKS (needless to say, it's not a wholesome family picture). Not only is this policy ridiculous and narrow-minded, but incredibly hypocritical as well, since VIDEODROME, the movie they tested us on, was undeniably a horror film!
But of course, to the university critics, it would probably be a 'psychological examination of the media-dominated zeitgeist MASQUERADING as a horror film'. triple groan.
Well, FLESH FREAKS is close to being done - it needs sound effects and we're working on the score - but after reading your page, I wondered about releasing it. I wouldn't want to screw the fans and make a bad name for myself by releasing a mediocre picture. But I find that it's hard to judge the quality of my own work, because I've worked on it so long, and know it in such detail, that I can't look at it the same way I would if I'd just grabbed it off the shelf. It IS pretty low-budget, but it's got some good visuals, plus on-location filming in Central America, which you don't see every day. The zombies and brain-eating parasite creatures aren't the most realistic things in the world, but they are fun to watch. Maybe I'll wait awhile and watch it again.
Anyway, sorry if this email's too long. Keep the horror alive!

Hey man, I wanted to drop you a line although I am sure you dont have time to read & respond to all your email. I just picked up Violent New Breed and I must say I cant wait to get some more of your films. One of the things I noticed when checking out a fan website of you was your musical interest. I was quite impressed. I have always thought that horror/gore movies fit in quite well with extreme metal. Yet I rarely meet someone into horror/gore movies that even listens to metal, let alone extreme metal. It is good to see someone who has good taste in both, I was overly impressed with the listing of your favorite bands like Dissection, Old Mans Child, CoF, KD/MF, Emperor, Satyricon, etc. I am an avid extreme metal fan, and also an avid cult/horror/gore/sleaze/exploitation fan and I have gotten evry into underground movies and started seriously collecting only a few short months ago. I am trying to amass a movie collection to match my music collection. Keep up the great work on your movies and keep showing people how it should be done. Hail!

Ok, I just saw Dead Things, Bloodthirsty Cannibal Demons, and The Shivers, heres what I thought of each:
Dead Things: This movie was total kick ass. lol ya gotta admit it was kinda funny tho...cannibal hilibilies, but oh well its just like Texas Chainsaw but Id give this film 2 and a half stars...the ONLY problem was it took too long to get into the violence, Im just the type of person who likes the non stop action, so thats just my opinion. But IOt was an awesome movie. That Death character looked awesome.
Bloodthirsty Cannibal Demons: Dude this movie was evil as hell (I liked it) id give i'd give it 3 stars. Had the action the blood the gore the evil everything that makes a horror movie good. I could tell u put alot into this film, it was excellent! I even got my cousin to watch it and he hates yer movies (He has no taste, hes stuck on Scream)
The Shivers: 2 word describe this movie Todd: HOLY SHIT!!! I couldnt believe my eyes I have never seen anything like it! I give it a fuckin 4 stars cuz it was fuckin scary as shit! U put so much effort into it had decent actors (Jo is a Great actress) And u had fantastic digital effects and yes the movie was VERY scary, it even made me jump a few times. Congrads man this is like my new fav movie, it was so creative in that style of Clive Barker anvd u mentioned Lovecrafts writings and it was just excellent I could go on tellin u forever how great it was but I dont wanna tie up yer mail box. Well Im gonna go...cya

Hey man, i just read that letter on the site, and i have to say this: Thank You. That means a lot that you even mentioned me in it. I will gladly return to work with you, filmmaking is something i take very seriously and want to pursue in the future. It is not very often a filmmaker lets some 15 year old kid come on the set and help out. My love of horror and filmmaking melded and i had some of the best times of my life on the set. If you EVER need an assistant, a zombie, an extra, an actor, or if Jolene ever wants a break from throwin goo and puttin guts on people, i am there. I had so much fun, id love to go back and help again.
Thanks Again

Todd,
My children and I enjoyed ourselves more than we can express last night. We so enjoyed being zombies. I was not sure what to expect really, but you put us all at ease and the crew that did the make up and stuff was also very nice and patient with all of us. I would vote for you for President! We wanted to say thank you. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only were you the nicest guy, funny as can be and very, very handsome, but you really made us feel wanted and appreciated :) This is one of the best things that we have ever had the pleasure of being a part of! We look forward to the premiere of it in the Theater.
As we said goodnight last night, you informed us of another shoot on Sunday morning. PLEASE, let us know where and when. We shall be there anytime you need us!
Again, we would like to thank you.
Signed,

Dude, you rock! My friend that I talk to online, his screen name is StuMachr, said he is a zombie in your new flick, Zombie Bloodbath 3. I think what you are doing to the horror genre is absolutely BRILLIANT. I read the review for VIOLENT NEW BREED by that Christian and his review just made me want to see it more! I totally agree with your mission statement, about how teen stars are ruining the genre; they dont know what horror is! I wish I could have seen the great movies like Evil Dead, TCM, and Phantasm in the theatres - but unfortunately I am only 15 years old! When I am older, I wish to do what you are doing - making horror films! People shouldn't be ashamed to like horror films, hell, they should be damn proud! horror movies are my absolute favourite kind of movies and I wish you the best of luck with your movies and KEEP DOING WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Don't let ANYONE stop you from doing what you are doing, because you FUCKING ROCK DUDE!!!!!!!

I also want to thank you for giving my daughter Jessika (Jeslyn) a path of choice. I am glad she has met you, and she now knows the real meaning of (direction). She didn't want to go to high school this year. It was going to be a real struggle for all of us. Now that she has a passion for something, things are going great. She has a direction to follow and a purpose (to stay on the honor roll). You have made a difference in my childs life. You may think I am giving you extra credit, I say an A+. Thanks again Todd, I really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Toddman, you are one to be praised for bearing the torch for us true horror buffs, because we will not be driven down by the ultra-conservative right-wing bible-thumpers that try to force their ideologies down our throats! Nor will we succumb to the Trendite wave of so-called "horror" like the dollar-machines that are "Scream" and it's mindless clones! Long live the Warriors that fight the good fight against oppression and censorship of the movies that we love and watch. And why? Because we won't allow it to happen! Films like "Zombie", and "Dawn of the Dead", and "Zombie Bloodbath" (which looks really cool, by the way), shall be the epitome of who we are and what we stand for; An open-minded free-thinking society comprised of individuals that should be allowed the freedom to make our own decisions about what we want to watch and when we want to watch it! Long live names like Argento, Fulci (posthumous), Carpenter and Sheets! Without them, our way of life may well be lost beneath a mountain of Conservatism and really crappy horror flicks with cast members of "Party of Five" and "Dawson's Creek".

I was surfing around on the www last night, and I read your Mission Statement. I just had to write and tell you how moved I was by your honesty and take-no-prisioners attitude. In our day and age, and with people in our age group, you rarely find the morals you displayed in your statement. I hope you realize just how commendable it is to do something for others, just for the satisfaction of knowing it makes them happy. Money and fame are nice (so I hear), but they can't compare to the wonders of doing what makes you happy. I just wanted you to know that I strongly admire you for being the kind of person you seem to be. Keep up the great work, and who knows?! And I read some of the reviews on your movies.

Hi there,
My name's David Wester and I just feel compelled to write to you to inform you that I love what you do. If you look on the credits of Zombie Bloodbath 2, you'll see that I was one of the zombies. Actually, I'm one of the 'melting zombies' at the end of the film, the guy who stands in a pile of guts...
When I was in Zombie Bloodbath 2, I had just decided that I might want to do the movie directing thing for a... "living"... and I learned a lot of basics from just being on the set of Bloodbath 2. I completed my first "backyard epic" as you call it shortly thereafter. My last...um...achievement (which was made much, much too long ago) was a piece called "Monkey Tales". Anyway, just keep it up and know that even though there are a few dickheads out there that look down on your stuff, there are others who are actually inspired by the fact that you actually finish things. :)

Dave

<< I don't know if Phantasm had any influence on the movie but it could have! >>
The whole "killer stalking the victim in their dreams" was plucked straight out of Phantasm. Wes did put a small twist on it, but it's very evident where it came from. That's another reason i dont really like Wes Craven, too much of his work is drawn from other horror films. Scream was a blatant rip off of A Nightmare On Elm Street, crossed with Halloween, and just a dash of When A Stranger Calls. Even certain scenes in Scream were lifted STRAIGHT OUT OF A Nightmare On Elm Street and Halloween. Kevin Williamson has no life whatsoever. His work is just unintelligent vile trash with nothing to offer but plagiaristic mindless and unoriginal writing. You cannot "pay tribute" (and i emphasize the "s) every single time you write. It becomes ripping off, and its obvious that Kevin Williamson can not do anything but rip off other films. It's time to bring back the real horror that made us crap our pants when we were young, and even still causes to do just that today! Bring back John Carpenter, Clive Barker, Tobe Hooper (my buddy), or Todd Sheets :) At least these people give us original work and put their thought and energy into creating films that are innovative and entertaining. Hell, John Carpenter's VAMPIRE$ was the best film of 1998 to be released in theatres, but it got such bad reviews and did so bad at the box office, all because it didnt have a cast member from Party Of Five in the credits, or Matchbox20 and Third Eye Blind werent on the soundtrack. What kind of shit is that? I want real horror and i want it now..

Dear Todd,
Praise the forces of darkness for a company that is keeping the horror-flick genre true!!! Thank you so much for existing!
I'm the guitarist/lead singer for a creepy garage-rock band called The Gory Details. It would be our dream come true to be included on a real horror movie soundtrack, not one starring your favourite cast members from Party of Five and Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
I've always fantasised about watching a slasher flick, and just as the actors are being hacked to pieces, one of my songs starts playing in the background during all the screaming.
I was recommended to your website by Rick of Necrocreep. If you're interested, I can send you a package with a recording of us, pictures of the band, etc. Here is a link to our under-construction site Gory Details .

Zombie Bloodbath was a great movie. It was low budget but good. The plot was about a nuclear meltdown which happened in Kansas City. The town was built over, but the people who moved there made a big mistake. The town is filled with the walking dead. The people who were killed in the meltdown were turned into zombies who feed on the living.
Joey and his friend Mike are 2 boys who are trying to make a movie and stumble upon a cave. Joey's sister and Mike fall in it. When their partens rescue them, they meet each other. Later that night, the zombies attack them. One by one they kill everybody by ripping them apart and eating them. One girl actaully survives. The movie spawned a sequel, which was even better. Higher budget, well a little at least, and a better story. If you're looking for a movie to gross you out watch Zombie Bloodbath. You can find it on the web to order in different movie sites, or just email Todd Sheets the director Horror25@aol.com
Believe me, Zombie Bloodbath is worth it.

Todd, I'm really touched. You literally bring tears to my eyes.
The question isn't whether or not I'm eager to film "Blood Feast II" but whether -- on the kind of budget in which I used to revel -- we could produce a movie competitive in today's marketplace.
Some of the conversations have hovered around the half-million mark. That's because I don't want to schlock the effects in this one. Maybe you have sources that would pitch in: actors and technicians and effects people who would either work for a piece of the action or for terrifically reduced salaries. If so, it's possible.
Do you have distribution connections? I assume the very title "Blood Feast II" would bring interest in some quarters, but that assumption may be full of holes.
Talk to me.

Herschell

I too muse about the old days, back when I caught drive-in double features of TWITCH OF THE DEATH NERVE and LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, etc. Back when folks like Dario Argento and Lucio Fulci were the reigning kings of the grossout.
Anyway, I'll be glad to include your link on my page (I checked it out--good job!) --I plan on doing an update tomorrow, adding a new film review, the most current news, newer scripts, and new links--check it out in a day or so and let me know what you think.
I also plan on doing an extensive page on Dario Argento in the near future, so keep your eyes peeled for that one as well.
Peace be with ya, and remember, there's no such thing as too much blood and guts.

I really love your site. I do, however, have a question that I was hoping you could answer, or point me in the right direction to get the answer. I want to know what you have to do to act in a horror movie. I have no acting experience, but I am one of the biggest horror movie fans around here. I have been watching horror movies since I was 8 years old (I am not 28) and have always wanted to act in a horror movie. I know, I know, I have no acting experience, but I dont think that it would be that hard to gain some, when you like horror as much as I do. I think I would make a great villain, serial killer, or all-around pervert. So, I was hoping that you could answer my question, if not I can certainly understand, but I thought I would take the chance and e-mail you anyway.
Thanks in advance,
David Pritchett

Love it. S'mores? That's so gross, but like I said...I love it. Horror books and films are making it pretty big right now, but for some reason they have drawn me in since I was a little girl. Thanks.

I am really happy you are making a success with your movies. Everything you said and did when we were kids has pretty much come true, huh?
Good luck with continued success.

Zombie Bloodbath was a great movie directed by Todd Sheets.

Hey buddy,
Wow, I am very flattered that you like my site! I also love your pages, and I will put your banner on my page A.S.A.P. That's pretty awesome that you guys make horror movies. I was supposed to make a horror movie myself (not anything major, we were gonna do it for fun) but unfortunately, I have to cancel because of summer school and lack of cash. We'll probably do it next year. The movie was supposed to be about me and my friend and we go insane and kill people (what an original story). Oh yeah, I saw your South Park page too, THAt is one of my favorite shows! I also have a south park page (not much of one, but its pretty cool) South Park page .
My banner is attached to this e-mail. Thanks alot and keep makin' them kickass horror movies!! Anything else I can do for ya just ask!

The zombie double feature we just watched blew us away to the point that we decided to look for info on them and you online and we found your kick-ass page! We are so impressed with Zombie Bloodbath 1 and 2 - especially part two - the way it was shot and edited blew us all away and the blood and gore was all awesome - not to mention the fact that you are talented and gorgeous too! I am a Horror fanatic and I plan on ordering more of your tapes soon!

I found your page linked on about every Horror site on the net and decided to check it out, finding it both surprisinig and interesting. I was surprised because the site was so good and interested enough to order two of your films from Salt City. I was pleased with them both and recently had a mini-Todd Sheets festival here in Michigan. All 10 people loved the films. It gives us hope that Horror has indeed got a bright future. Don't stop making these movies! I bet soon you'll be in Hollywood making us all gross out!
