Nightwatch - The Radio Show For Things That Go BUMP In The Night

It was a dark and stormy night when the name and concept of this radio show was first finalized.  It was decided to bring forth a new type of radio show that would mix genres, embracing Pop Culture, and bring incredible guests to the world!  A show that would dig deep, yet always retain a fun atmosphere.  And  most of all, a show to give a voice to everyone, where people could speak free and clear of ridicule.  A neutral stage to express their ideas, philosophy and creations.  Nightwatch would be  a bit different...   Laid back yet informative, fun yet serious.

Todd Sheets was also fairly well known in underground Horror circles as a director and locally in Kansas City was a bit of a local icon of sorts as a Horror Film Director.  It was this idea that initially sparked the idea of having a show kind of like one of Todd's favorite people and mentor, Art Bell, yet add some Horror movies, humor and really get MORE into the minds of the guests than most shows had been doing.   There were a couple of radio specials in 2004, and then it was decided that a full show was needed.  On October 5th, 2005 the official first Nightwatch show aired with a very scared and nervous show host doing his best to explain the ideas of the show and to entertain an audience and thus, history began.

Now, some 270 shows later, the show is available to listen to worldwide on the web, but is also available on various AM/FM and internet STATIONS in 14 countries, thanks to the amazing affiliates who syndicate the show all over the world and some 213 stations have played the Nightwatch show !  It is an amazing ride and a shock how many great people get involved with the show.  Friendships have been formed and amazing things have happened - beyond the wildest dreams of the host who started it all, Todd Sheets.  And the adventure is JUST beginning.

Some of the amazing guests on Nightwatch over the years:

Elvira – Mistress Of The Dark, The Ghost Hunters (TAPS) from the Sci-Fi Channel, RAVEN, Sid Haig (House of 1000 Corpses) Psychic Dr. Louis Turi, King Diamond, Pat Priest (Marilyn Munster), Lyle Blackburn, Chris Fleming (Biography Channel),  Snowy Shaw, Patrick Burns from various TV shows, John Zaffis, HG Lewis, 42nd Street Pete, Lizzy Borden, Adrienne Barbeau, Lance Henriksen, Heart Of The Wolf Foundation, Sage Stallone, Fred Olen Ray, Michael Rooker, Dean Haglund from The X-Files, Reggie Bannister from Phantasm movies, Adam Baldwin, Linnea Quigley, Kelli Maroney (Chopping Mall, Night of The Comet),  Sid Haig, Don “The Dragon” Wilson, Linda Multon Howe, Tony Todd, Bill Moseley, Michael Berryman, James Lorinz, Steve Grimmett, Cynthia Rothrock, Danny Vaughn, Jesse Ventura, Tony Moran from Halloween, Jim Wynorski (Horror Director Supreme),  Fates Warning, Joe Bob Briggs, Linda Godfrey (famous author), Wally Wingert, George Noory, The Comic Book Men, The PSI Network, David Decoteau, Hank Sherman, JR Bookwalter, Exhorder, Sybil Danning, The Booth Brothers from Sci-Fi Channel’s SPOOKED, Bobby Barth from AXE, many Paranormal groups from around the world, Lloyd Kaufman from Troma Films and many, many more…

And things are still growing!  There is talk of new ideas for the show as well,  Satellite Radio has been in contact with Nightwatch about branching out, various agents and TV producers are in talks with Todd now to move forward on some new ideas and there are even going to be personal appearances at various Conventions such as Planet Comicon in the US this year for Nightwatch.  The Nightwatch universe is growing, expanding and always evolving and it is all due to the amazing loyalty of the listeners and the great stations that syndicate the show each week.  And there are even some fun merchandise ideas coming as well!

And all along, Todd Sheets and Chris Weisbach maintained their integrity, their honesty and their honor.  Never selling out, never giving in.  Always outspoken, Todd never fears who he may upset in his search to bring you the best possible show he can each week.  The guy simply says it like it is and has never been afraid to name names and confront an issue live on the air.  Chris is the perfect counterpoint, an amazing co-host keeping things grounded and relevant.  These guys are not in it for the money.  They don't want fame and fortune.  They are here because they love it.  As Todd says to people listening every week, "Without you, this show would not be here."  And he means it.  His loyalty to the listeners and to the stations playing the show may have cost him some friends from time to time, but his heart is in the right place.  It's all for the love of the show and the idea of bringing entertainment and joy to everyone who listens.

And to this day, Todd still gets nervous just a bit before every broadcast.....
